Homeless and destitute, Debbie made a tent her temporary home at Oppenheimer Park in Vancouver, Canada. The squalid tent city was created to protest the plight of the homelessness in the city. The two month occupation of the park drew over 350 phone calls to police for violence, liquor infractions, and possession of firearms, open fires, assaults and trafficking drugs. Already traumatized by living on the streets, Debbie felt she couldn’t stay much longer at the park due to the chaos and hostility. She didn’t know where she would go. WP
